When I’m feeling a bit lonely and depressed, I usually get out of the dormitory, ride a passenger jeepney, go through the winding escalator until I get to the top and usually pass by at Razon’s Halo Halo and as always order their All Special Halo Halo at the 4th Level of Gaisano Mall of Davao.
Their Special Halo Halo is to die for! so far it’s the best I’ve ever tasted, unlike other halo halo versions, their powdery ice shavings simply melts in my mouth – with no left-over chunky feeling on the tip my tongue, and their secret? it all lies on the special macapuno fillings – which is very hard to grow or look for, due to the scarcity the owner of the place said that they transport or ship the macapuno directly from General Santos City, because looking for these in Davao City is scarce, if not difficult to procure, cultivate and grow – and if only if anyone had a macapuno plantation farm – the quality would not suffice.
Ohh the mouth watering Palabok…
In addition to it’s secret halo halo recipe fillings is the saba bananas incorporated in evaporated milk, beans and leche flan as toppings makes it a perfect match made in heaven, I see no sugar or I may say no sugar added because the sweetness of the macapuno balances the taste and therefore giving a full flavor.
If you wondered why there’s no ube and ice-cream to add the extra flavor like others are doing aside from imitating – because Razon’s Halo Halo speaks for itself.
Go give yourself a try and splash over the warm day with a special cold Razon’s Halo Halo.
